Modern Slavery Statement

Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement

This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement is made by Man with Van Cranford in respect of our financial year and sets out the steps we are taking to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our operations and supply chains. We recognise that modern slavery is a serious crime and a grave violation of fundamental human rights, and we are committed to playing our part in its eradication.

Man with Van Cranford provides transport and removal services and works with a range of suppliers, subcontractors, and partners. We understand that the nature of logistics and labour-based services can present particular risks if not properly managed. We therefore adopt robust standards of conduct and governance to help ensure that exploitation has no place in our business activities.

Our Zero-Tolerance Policy

We operate a clear and unequivocal zero-tolerance policy towards modern slavery, human trafficking, forced or compulsory labour, and all forms of child labour that are not in line with applicable laws. This commitment applies to our own staff, to temporary workers engaged through third parties, and to any individual or organisation that supplies goods or services to or on behalf of Man with Van Cranford.

All managers and supervisors are required to promote this policy and to act immediately on any concerns that may indicate a risk of exploitation. Any breach of our zero-tolerance stance by employees may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment. Where suppliers or subcontractors are found to be in breach, we will expect immediate corrective action and reserve the right to suspend or terminate relationships where satisfactory remediation is not achieved.

Suppliers and Due Diligence

Our supply chain includes vehicle and equipment providers, fuel suppliers, subcontracted drivers and porters, and providers of ancillary services. We expect all suppliers and subcontractors to uphold the same high standards that we apply internally. As part of our onboarding process, we assess new suppliers to help ensure they operate in a lawful, ethical, and socially responsible manner.

We are working to strengthen our due diligence procedures by incorporating modern slavery clauses into relevant contracts, seeking confirmation of compliance with applicable legislation, and assessing the risk profile of suppliers based on sector, geography, and labour practices. Where higher risks are identified, we will apply enhanced scrutiny and monitoring.

Supplier Audits and Monitoring

To support our zero-tolerance position, we conduct proportionate audits and reviews of key suppliers and subcontractors. These checks may include site visits, document reviews, verification of right-to-work processes, and assessment of working conditions where appropriate. Our aim is to confirm that workers are recruited and employed freely, are paid fairly, and have safe and respectful working environments.

If concerns arise during an audit, we will work collaboratively with the supplier to address them through corrective action plans with clear timelines. Where issues are serious or remain unresolved, we will consider suspending new work, reducing volumes, or ending the commercial relationship.

Reporting Channels and Raising Concerns

We encourage all employees, subcontractors, and others working in our operations or supply chain to speak up if they have any concerns about possible modern slavery or unethical labour practices. Concerns can be raised directly with line managers or senior management. Reports may be made confidentially, and we do not tolerate any form of victimisation or retaliation against anyone who raises a concern in good faith.

All reports will be taken seriously and investigated promptly. Where there is evidence of modern slavery or related abuse, we will take appropriate action, which may include notifying relevant authorities, engaging specialist support services where possible, and working with affected individuals to help safeguard their wellbeing.

Training and Awareness

We are committed to increasing awareness of modern slavery risks within our workforce. Relevant staff, particularly those with responsibilities for recruitment, supplier management, and operations, are provided with guidance on identifying warning signs of exploitation and on how to respond to concerns. As our procedures develop, we intend to expand training and guidance to reflect emerging best practice and changes in legislation.

Annual Review and Continuous Improvement

This statement and our wider approach to tackling modern slavery will be reviewed at least annually by Man with Van Cranford leadership. As part of this review, we will assess the effectiveness of our actions, consider feedback from employees and stakeholders, and identify opportunities for improvement.

We are committed to strengthening our systems and controls year on year, increasing the depth of supplier audits where necessary, enhancing training, and refining our reporting mechanisms. By continually improving our practices, we aim to reduce the risk of modern slavery in our operations and supply chains, and to promote respect for human rights across the communities in which we operate.

This statement has been approved by the management of Man with Van Cranford, who accept overall responsibility for its implementation and for ensuring that the principles set out above are embedded into our everyday business practices.
